Home theaters are all the rage now, but some people who want to have one don’t have a clue where to begin when designing one. This is where home theater designers offer their services.

Home theater designers often work for showrooms which sell home theater packages, and the designers are there to help clients select a package that will best suit their needs.

Xaviera Arata Editor of the “Home Theater Reviews” website — http://www.HomeTheaterReviews.me — pointed out;

“…Not all service providers are equal though, and there are certain options that you should look for when choosing a designer to help you make your home theater…” Added Xaviera Arata

Room Analysis – a good home theater designer should have an option where they either ask for the dimensions of your room and/or even offer a preliminary house call where they can look the room over. This allows them to pick a package that’s neither too large nor too small for your theater needs.

Package Customization – aside from picking a package that’s the right size for your home theater, designers should offer personal customization options that allow you to add or remove equipment from the package to suit your personal tastes. Naturally, this customization option should also allow you to manage your budget by adjusting the overall price.

Support Equipment Availability – aside from the actual audio and video gear for your home theater, a good designer should take into account support gear for your theater. This includes things like static guards, acoustic tiling, cabinets, and even furniture.

Acoustics and Lighting Advice – a home theater should have lighting that doesn’t disrupt viewing ability, so that the glare from light won’t reflect off the TV screen. It should also be set up with proper acoustics that prevents outside noise from entering the room, as well as minimizing echoes within the room. A good designer will take these facts into consideration and offer both advice and help in modifying your home theater along these lines.

Budgeting Advice – naturally, the bottom line for any designer is to make a sale. Because of this, try to analyze the advice your designer is giving you. A good one will have your welfare at heart, and offer options that either minimize costs for you or pace your payments at a tolerable rate. If, on the other hand, every bit of advice the designer gives seems to raise the bill, you might be getting gouged for cash. Be Warned.

After Sales Support – lastly, see if the designer offers any helpful options after closing the sale.

“…The after sales support can include extended warranties on equipment, service packages, and other helpful little bits that lets you know you can ask for assistance if things blow up later…” Added Xaviera Arata

I surprised my husband with this media room, inspired by HGTV designer Candice Olson. I did all the work on a DIY budget. Detailed info here: www.ratemyfavoritespaces.com Brown wall color is Sherwin Williams’ “Toasty” in flat finish. Details: Panasonic AE3000U 1080P projector, Denon 1909 AV Receiver, Aperion 7.1 cherry speakers/SW, Stewart Firehawk 100″ screen, PS3, DirecTV HD DVR, Apple TV, VUDU, Slingbox HD Pro, Harmony 890 remote, BDI cherry cabinet. If you need reinforcement with the wife or SO, tell them American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, HGTV, Food Network all look amazing in 1080p. (With a Harmony remote, she can operate the theater too.) Please note: The lights were on for shooting this video, but not when we watch TV or movies.
Help answer the question about Home Theater Systems
do all home theater systems come with DVD players?
I want to get a home theater system, but I already have a perfectly good DVD player. Can I get a system that just hooks up to my TV and works with cable and my dvd player?

High definition television (HDTV) is without doubt all the rage with the home theater enthusiast. But if you are not an devotee of home cinema there may be a chance you are undecided about buying HDTV, for the reason that HDTV sounds so technically sophisticated – it can really seem off putting.

But actually there is nothing to be fearful about HDTV. It works just like ordinary analogue television except the quality of the broadcast is superior, and soon you will need HDTV else you will only pick up static.

Are you ready for the digital switch over?

The real reason you must change your television type is because very U.S. and U.K. shifting their broadcasting signals, and pretty much soon digital TV will be kind and those left with analogue will be left for dust.

Some people may be left behind because of possible confusion. But really HDTV shouldn’t be confusing at all.

Digital is better than analogue because they produce a better quality picture, and a much higher resolution.

While Analogue is going to be superceded it will not be by HDTV but by a lower version of called DTV. HDTV does provide the highest quality of DTV

During the changeover broadcasters will submit signals in (Standard Definition Television (SDTV) provides best available analogue TV., and HDTV and resolutions in between.

And any new television set you buy will be able to read a DTV signal.

Here are some simple tips on how to buy a HDTV:

Tip 1. Does your area already have HDTV broadcast? If there is no HDTV signal in the first place then there is no way to take full advantage of HDTV. In addition the inferior signals produced by some regular channels can truly look distorted on HDTV.

Tip 2. Set your budget. Your budget will determine the quality of your proposed HDTV and if you don’t have the money you won’t be able to buy for understandable reasons.

Tip 3. Make sure that your HDTV unit has all necessary connections for other home theater components, if not, then those components will be rendered useless if the input and output options are not there.

Also think about other appliances you might want to connect in the near future.

Tip 4. Apart from a HDTV that gives vivid pictures you also need clear sounds as well. Therefore make sure your HDTV comes with Dolby Digital Surround Sound.

Tip 5. Be in no doubt that your antenna or satellite dish is well-matched with HDTV, when you bring home the HDTV, you can use and enjoy it right away.

Summary

While the transition from analogue to HDTV takes place it would also be wise to have a unit that can switch from HDTV to SDTV automatically adjust between formats of TV channels quickly.

A HDTV include a program guide installed would also be very handy.

Obviously you need a viewing unit that will allow you to watch TV and Movies. Right now the U.S. and UK are changing their broad casting signals from analogue to digital and unless your TV is up-to-date, you won’t be able to watch television, just complete these uncomplicated tips, and you will enjoy great home theater entertainment.

By: Robert Cacciatore

TV, we just love it – we’re TV junkies. We Americans spend more time in front of the television – we are addicted to entertainment. And if we make a good investment in our home theaters we will become even more addicted to our TV screens because the sound quality and picture will be immense.

Home theaters are all the rage, so popular in fact, that there is terrific competition out there. Which has led to new technology being introduced and prices ever decreasing. This is excellent news but most consumers have budgets that cannot meet the costs of upgrading continually and waiting is a idea for yesterdays technology and save bundle in the long run.

Its true to say that technology is ever evolving, its not being developing terribly fast, and if you want great quality and exciting bargain prices you’ll be amazed what you can find on places like Ebay and your local paper. If you have some sort of budget constraint you will find excellent alternative out there for second hand home theater components. While true buying second user goods will not come with have any warranty, some people do not like to purchase used goods for this reason alone. It’s understandable, and this one option is not the only one.

You could build your home theater – one component at a time. You can save big and be surprised how you can end up with a higher spec system to those you find in at the moment.

We would love to have Bose speakers or Dolby Digital Surround sound, but the fact remains these makes can really stretch our already overstretched budgets and this limitation forces us to turn down such gorgeous equipment. The key is to take your time, go down the electronics store, compare each system to your liking and what you find disagreeable, this way you will be informed and up-to-date end user.

Next get on the Internet, compare the prices you found in the electronics store with what you find online. Most likely you will find the Internet to be more agreeable on price. But watch out! Is the retailer a reputable one?

Go back to the electronics store with your online information printed, see if they will match or better the price. They may not better the price, but they might throw some freebie like a DVD player, that could bridge the pricing gap.

Conclusion

Receiving the most excellent home theater system need not break the bank, keep your options open and you do this by doing your research, not only will you be knowledgeable amassed, knowing the really prices of things compared to their value.

Most of the time the cost of things is really down to the name, taking a chance on other brands can get you equivalent equipment at a more sensible price. Just do your research first and find out as much about the company.

Its your money, you worked hard for it, expect the best.

By: Robert Cacciatore

There’s a misconception that exists in the world of home theater which revolves around people looking for the best home theater systems.

The truth is, the best home theater systems are those which suit people’s individual needs. It’s all a matter of what you want in a system and how much you’re prepared to spend.

Sure, you could go out and get a loan and spend five figures for a state-of-the-art system but in reality, it’s probably going to be a waste of money.

Best Home Theater Systems

In this article, we want to give you a guide to setting up home theater in your home and what it might cost you. There are a few variables to take into account. For example, you need to answer these questions:

- are you going to start from scratch?
- do you just want to upgrade what you already have in place?
- or are you planning to renovate your entertainment area?

If you are starting from scratch then are several alternatives. Today, big screen TVs are all the rage but look at the smaller screens before making a decision. A 27″-30″ television plus accessories such as DVD means you will need to begin with a budget of up to $1000.

However, if you already have a television and DVD player in place and are looking to upgrade to a better sound system, then your price reduces significantly. Purchasing a home theater in a box with the other components in place means you can budget for around $500 in expense.

Plasma Or LCD TVs

If you are looking to upgrade to either a plasma or LCD television then you need to make a couple of major decisions. Plasma has long been regarded as the ideal home theater screen of choice because of it’s size but LCDs have quickly closed the gap and are now getting much bigger in size.

Either way, purchasing a large screen version in either plus accessories which may also include a vide projector set up and superior sound system, then your budget is going to balloon out to somewhere in the vicinity of $4000-$10,000.

Renovating Your Existing Home Theater Room

Many home theater enthusiasts start out by incorporating an existing area as part of their plans but when the budget allows, they tend to upgrade. This can mean renovating an existing room including taking a wall out or adding extra features.

Home renovations can be expensive and when you start altering the appearance of a room the cost can escalate. Budget for $10-$30,000 for this type of upgrade which may even include new home theater furniture.

The benefit with this is adding extra value to your home but it is a commitment financially and avoid having to borrow money to complete this type of project.

So having the best home theater systems means more than simply going out and buying the most expensive units on the market – it comes down to what you really want and what will satisfy your needs.

By: Dean Caporella
