It's a big enough room. My question is what are your going to use as far as display the picture, front projection with a projector and scrren, a plasma or LCD tv and how big. First of all, considered the budget your are going to spend on this project. Here's my recommendation. Going with a Plasma tv 58" from Sumsang B550 $1,999(best buy), an Onkyo receiver TX-SR607 7.1 for $499 (Fry's electronics), a panasonic blue ray disc player BD-60 $299 (w/2 free movies from best buy), a Klipsch Synergy Quintet III (5 speaker $499 at best buy, wait till they have it for $299) a Klipsch SUB-10 subwoofer for $399 and a couple of small speaker from JBL, Infinity, Polk for rear channel (back) for around $100.
It does not have to match the front speakers for 7.1 surround sound. The speakers are capable up to 300 watts and the subwoofer 420 watts for deep bass. This will sound good for you. By the way I do have the system I recommend in my bedroom, but a 50" plasma and the 58" in my family room. Good luck and enjoy.
